For 32 years Jack owned and operated his own businesses that included manufacturing and distributing medical equipment and supplies. Other business activities included buying and selling businesses and their assets, holding auctions, as well as evaluating equipment and property.

Jack had a strong interest in his Town and became involved with numerous town functions where he was a board member for various departments. Jack was named to the regional School Board where he was involved in siting and building new schools and creating rehab plans for existing facilities to accommodate a rapidly growing population.

After the school projects he was asked to reinitiate and run the Industrial Development Committee for the area. This required that he create a structure and procedure manual, including a marketing plan. During his tenure, there was sited a power plant, a major strip center, and clients were brought to an existing industrial park.

In conjunction with industrial development, the Town selectmen asked him to initialize a Water Board to help the Town move from a farming community to a community with attractive commercial development options, so that a solid diversified tax base could be established. This involved setting up a complete new municipal water system for his Town whose size was over 50 square miles. It included: piping, size, and pressure; siting pump and storage units; creating water sources and reservoirs; and coordinating sewer issues.

In 2004, after selling his business interests he moved to Florida where he decided to start a second career in Commercial Real Estate.
